We’re Dawn and Phil—partners since 2007, married in 2011 and currently based in beautiful Lancashire in the North West of England.

Our lives revolve around our dogs. Every one of them lives inside our home as part of our family, sharing our daily routines—whether that’s exploring local parks and countryside, joining us on car rides, or simply relaxing at home. They are never kept apart from us; they’re our loyal, furry companions who bring joy, laughter and purpose to our every day.

​

In August 2020 we registered our kennel name, SWISHSHEPS, with The Kennel Club and began our journey breeding White Swiss Shepherd Dogs.

Our first litter—Swish Sheps A Litter—arrived in July 2022, followed by three further KC/ISA litters registered under our affix.

​

In March 2023, we became official members of the International Association for the Health & Preservation of Shepherd Dogs (I.S.A.), with pedigrees issued by IHR e.V. in Germany under the Swish Sheps name.

​

Following the birth of our final registered litter in January 2024, we made the deliberate decision to step away from both The Kennel Club and the ISA. This allowed us to operate as an independent kennel with a clearer focus: to prioritise health, temperament, genetic diversity and longevity above all else. We hope our approach encourages other breeders to embrace healthier, more sustainable breeding practices.

Our mission today is to produce functional sheepdogs of any healthy colour, bred in the spirit of the original German Shepherd Dog—sound in body, steady in mind and capable in work. We use occasional, carefully chosen outcrosses to keep inbreeding low and to ensure that both our own pack and this broader breed type remain strong, diverse and viable for years to come.
