Swish Sheps B Litter - Early 2023
Our next planned litter will be our B litter which will hopefully be born around February 2023. Our female Zarya (Dawn Dame of Iz Beloy Brigady) will be the Mother. Please keep checking back on this page for further details in due course.
All of our dogs used for breeding are Embark tested which includes testing for important breed specific health issues such as MDR1 and DM. You can find details of all of our dogs health results on our Kennel page. We also test for Pituitary Dwarfism as standard to ensure no breeding dogs are carriers. Finally we hip and elbow score all breeding dogs and results are obtained via the British Veterinary Association.
As well as testing for genetic disease, we also test for genetic diversity and we're consciously working to try and lower the level of inbreeding within the breed and therefore, our Kennel. Embark provide a COI percentage for all of our dogs and also provide us with a free mate-match service so we can see what the predicted average COI will be for each litter. The current average COI for the White Swiss Shepherd Dog according to Embark's latest data is around 30%, we strive to lower this figure as much as possible with the gene pool our breed has available.
For further details about any of the health tests mentioned here, or for more details about genetic diversity and COI, please don't hesitate to contact us.
